Hurricane season starts – things still a mess

As we move into the 2008 hurricane season, it is sad to report that things are just as messed up as before. The Department of Justice should be releasing it’s findings next month and from what we hear it is not good news. Every shelter in Broward county has failures in ADA compliance. Not just a few, but every single one. Storm number 2 (Bertha) is presently twirling around in the Atlantic and there are no safe havens in South Florida. According to Dr. William Gray, we can expect a very busy hurricane season this year so prepare while you still have time. Expect absolutely no help from any state agencies which are presently falling apart from budget shortfalls that would make your head spin. Tallahassee has no idea how they plan on paying for this year’s budget, but expect massive cuts in benefits and increases in taxes.
