We are back on the air!

After 9 days in the hospital, I am back home and recuperating. My wife Laura gave everyone a quick rundown of the fun we were having at the hospital. Suffice it to say that without an advocate, there is little chance of you getting out of the hospital any better than you started. In my case I was at the chiropractor and started to get bad shivers and was becoming nauseous. My chiro called 911 and the emergency response folks grabbed me.  They found my blood pressure was very high and oxygen was low. At the hospital they found that I had  102.9 degree fever and my blood sugar was off the scale (around 300). After a CT scan, MRI, and more blood taken then I thought I had, the doctors said they found an infection in the area between C6 and C7 in my spine.  They could not tell me how it got there or even what it was. The doctors originally were going to aspirate the area of the spine that was infected, but other doctors said it was too risky and did a series of tests to see what was in my blood.l

The doctors put me on vancomycin, which is a very powerful drug to kill just about any bacteria or viruses around. We are all hoping it is working but won’t know until next week when I get another MRI to see if the colony is decreasing in size. Fortunately, I am home recuperating and will once again be posting news stories an other interesting items for the disabled community.

Remember that this site is a team effort and we ask that you send us an email if you find a story about the disabled community that needs to be told. You will get credit for the posting and we will put a link back to your site so you can get some extra traffic for your effort. As I get caught up from my ordeal at the hoispital I’ll write more about what happeed and what you should watch out for. But for now let me start to pick through the news and get those important issues posted for you reply.
